Medical Careers Institute, College of Health Science at ECPI University is currently seeking a Program Director with the desire to share their passion for Occupational Therapy to positively impact the lives of our students.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate ongoing Occupational Therapy program and curriculum planning, assessment and evaluation. 
  • Maintain high standards of teaching; providing innovative, hands-on and relevant education for students.
  • Recruit, hire, train, observe and evaluate faculty.
  • Classroom teaching; student advising.
  • Scheduling faculty and students.
  • Secure and maintain collaborative relationships with clinical sites.
  • Ensure compliance with University and programmatic accreditation, regulations and policies.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field from a regionally accredited institution required.
  • Must be a certified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant who is licensed or credentialed according to regulations of the state of Florida.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy required. This experience must include:
    • At least 1 year of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level.
    • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
    • Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
    • Experience working with and managing Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Possess the academic and experiential qualifications and background that are necessary to meet program objectives and the mission of the University
  • Proficiency in curriculum development.

  • Proficiency in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising.
  • Strong academic and professional record.
  • Strong active-learning skills for effective instruction.
  • Experience in a student-centric and hands-on learning environment.
  • The highest levels of integrity at all times.

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills.
