Overview

ECPI University is seeking a dynamic and results oriented individual to coordinate and implement international student recruitment strategies. The International Admissions Advisor reports to the Director of International Admissions and provides excellent customer service through consistent and effective outreach and follow up.

Responsibilities

  • Contact prospective international students who have expressed an interest in attending the University.
  • Interview prospective students to accurately explain program offerings; discuss and advise suitable programs in accordance with the student’s interests, qualifications, and career goals.
  • Adhere to a strict code of ethics and comply with all ECPI University policies and procedures, State and Federal laws and accrediting body regulations.
  • Work with the admissions office and International Student Services to facilitate international admissions and issuance of visa documents including review of foreign credentials.
  • Accurately account for all inquiries and admissions activity associated with all inquiries.
  • Ensure that all enrollment paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Keep all required reports current and accurate, including information stored in the University systems.
  •  Assist with international student orientation and provide information regarding University policies and immigration laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain pre-arrival information materials and provide these to students arriving in the USA.
  • Utilize social media and other methods to engage current international students and graduates to help expand interest in ECPI University in their home countries.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure international student satisfaction.

Qualifications

 

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Lived, worked, or studied internationally.
  • Minimum of two years experience in international student admissions, and/or enrollment in a university setting.
  • Familiarity of immigration procedures and SEVIS, and experience evaluating foreign educational credentials.
     

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Preferred fluency in at least one language other than English.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management; knowledge of CampusNexus or other student information system; familiarity with the professional use of social media.
  • Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere in and outside the University.
  • Ability to interpret, communicate and apply policies and procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate events and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and serve as a role model for students.
  • An understanding of global issues and the impact that those issues have on international education.
