The Nurse Aid Program Coordinator is responsible for the administration, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Nurse Aid Program to include supervision of faculty and students. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic leadership; recruit, interview, train and develop Nurse Aid Faculty.
  • Conduct faculty observations and document faculty development.
  • Teach in the program, as needed.
  • Prepare, review, and implement program budget.
  • Maintain program accreditation standards.
  • Promote the Nurse Aid Program in the community; recruit advisory board members and attend advisory board meetings.
  • Participate in graduation ceremonies and other University events as required.



  • Registered nurse with a current, unrestricted license in Virginia or a multistate licensure privilege.
  • Associate’s Degree in healthcare or a related field from a regionally accredited educational institution.
  • Current AHA CPR certification.
  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse within the previous five years and at least one year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services.
  • Prior experience teaching adults or high school students preferred.
